Lady Gaga Returns to Rio with a Free Concert in Copacabana

"It's a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio — for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters," she wrote on X. "I've been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized. Your understanding that I needed that time to heal meant the world to me."
"I am now coming back and I feel better than ever and am working so hard to make sure this show is one you will never forget. Get ready for MAYHEM on the beach." Gaga is releasing an album on March 7 titled Mayhem.
After a statement from her X account shared that she wouldn't be taking the stage at Rock in Rio, she posted on Instagram. "Brazil, I’m devastated that I’m not well enough 2 come to Rock In Rio. I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now."
Adding: "I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. I’m so sorry, and I love you so much." In another Instagram post, Gaga showed off her "Rio" tattoo on the back of her neck, which "was written by children in the favelas."
