Where To Go After a Show in Downtown Miami?

Where To Go After a Show in Downtown Miami?

Has it ever happened to you that you went to a show at Miami Heat Arena, and at the end, you were feeling really high on adrenaline and didn't feel like going home?

It's happened to me a few times, not to mention that right after any show the traffic to get home, if you don't live in downtown or Brickell, is very heavy, it's hard to call an Uber, and some streets are closed. Thinking about this scenario, why not stop by a bar for a drink, to extend the night a little longer instead of going straight home?

Today I bring you a suggestion for one of the best bars I've been to here in downtown Miami. It's called Mama Tried. The place is literally a vibe. I went to Mama Tried after a Blink 182 show and simply had one of the best nights in Miami, paying just $13 for an espresso martini. If you know Miami well, you know that things here are getting more and more expensive, and part of that is related to entertainment. If you go to a fancy restaurant, you can end up paying up to $20 for a cocktail.

Mama Tried Bar

I liked that the bar is located right in the center, which makes it easy to get around to buy drinks, and there are several bartenders serving you, which helps a lot so you don't have to wait in line for too long.

Funny thing: Initially, the plan wasn't to go to Mama Tried. When the show ended, my friends and I thought, let's not go home now, let's find a bar and get a drink. We immediately used our best friend Google to look up bars near the area, we found one and went there. When we got to this fancy place, right at the first table facing the entrance, I came face to face with a table with six people, five women and one man covered in jewelry, enjoying their delicious dinner and drinks at their reserved table. Ok. They looked nice!

We went straight to the host to ask if we could get a table or even sit at the bar. The place is really well-known in Miami, and the waiting list was at least 1 hour long, even to sit at the bar. This place was playing house music, which was very appropriate, with lots of people at the tables eating and chatting. But I didn't really see a bar/club vibe, and it was already around 11 pm.

No Regerts - Mama Tried

We decided not to wait, and my friend asked the host if she could recommend another place, and she told us about Mama Tried. That's why we went there, based on the recommendation of the girl at the first bar we went to. Lol

When we got there, before we even went in, we could already hear that the music was really good. One of the things that also caught my attention at the bar was the crowd that was there, beautiful, fun people, but without that air of stardom that we often see in Miami. People were well-dressed, but totally casual, ready to enjoy a night with friends and dance without having to worry about being dressed as if they were going to an Oscar.

The atmosphere reminded me a lot of the style of bars in New York, where people literally go to have fun with friends, enjoy good music and good drinks. The bar even has a super stylish pool table that can be used by anyone who wants.

My friends and I had a super fun night that definitely is marked in history for us. I want more people to know about this place because it really is a find in downtown Miami.

The next day I started following the page on IG, took a look at their website and saw that the bar is owned and operated by a group of bartenders, librarians, construction workers, filmmakers, DJs, teachers, bowling enthusiasts, snowcone peddlers and water polo coaches.

Mama Tried Sign

On the website they say:
A cozy and affordable throwback in the center of Downtown Miami, Mama Tried is a quiet spot for happy hour and a rowdy spot for a late night. We want you to feel comfortable and throw one back however you want.

I couldn't agree more with this description.
